WeSupportGivers — Free Website Platform for Nonprofits

The Challenge

WeSupportGivers had a mission: provide free professional websites to small nonprofits that couldn’t afford one. But they had no platform of their own to make that happen. They needed a public-facing site that would accomplish several things at once — explain the program with full transparency, build trust with skeptical nonprofit leaders who’d heard “free” before, accept and validate applications, and reflect the same professional quality they’d be delivering to their nonprofit clients.

This wasn’t a single landing page. They needed:

• A multi-page platform with distinct sections for eligibility, FAQ, transparency, design options, and volunteer recruitment
• A multi-step application form with progress tracking, validation, and eligibility checkboxes
• Rich schema markup for search visibility across multiple content types
• A design that felt warm, trustworthy, and mission-driven — not corporate
• Fast deployment — the program was ready to accept applicants and needed the site live within days

Our Approach

We scoped the full information architecture upfront, mapping 12+ pages across the user journey — from first-time visitor to submitted application. The deep navy and gold color palette was chosen to convey trust, warmth, and professionalism without feeling like a typical tech company.

Key decisions and deliverables:

• Astro 5 static-first architecture — zero client-side JavaScript by default, with islands of interactivity only where needed (application form, mobile nav)
• 6-step progressive application form — real-time progress bar, field validation, eligibility self-attestation checkboxes, and a referral tracking section
• 5 schema markup types — Organization, WebSite, Service, BreadcrumbList, and HowTo structured data for rich search results across Google and AI assistants
• “What’s the Catch?” transparency page — dedicated page addressing the #1 objection head-on, with FAQ accordion and clear explanation of the give-back model
• Cloudflare deployment — global CDN with edge caching for sub-second page loads worldwide
• Responsive design system — consistent hero pattern, stat badges, and section layouts across all 12+ pages, tested at every breakpoint

The platform launched in one week and was immediately ready to accept nonprofit applications.
